You might have missed it even if you were following all the Microsoft Teams and Windows 11 announcements, but the new version of Teams isn't going to be Electron anymore.
Instead, it's going to use a relatively new control called WebView2. In this video, I dig into what WebView2 is, why it's different from Electron, and what it means for users.
What about MacOS? What about Linux? What about VDI clients?
Does this mean that Electron is going away, and isn't loved by Microsoft anymore?
I also talk about the possibility of a desktop Client SDK. Does the move away from Electron make this more, or less, likely?
